About this role

The intern will develop finite element models of conceptual spacecraft structures that may include tanks, habitats, payload adapters, landers and terrain vehicles. The majority of this effort will be defining geometry within a 3D cad modeler to produce Nastran models. Loads and material definitions will be studied to understand structural behavior. Task difficulty will depend upon the intern's education and experience. At the end of the internship the student will have an increased operational knowledge of finite element modeling and spacecraft structures. An understanding of lightweight spacecraft structures.
