About this role
The Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a research-focused Postdoctoral Appointee within its Dynamics theme area. The successful candidate will conduct fundamental and applied research on the ultrafast electronic, structural, and nonequilibrium dynamics of MXene materials.
The appointee will use and help advance state-of-the-art ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy methods to investigate the fundamental physics and electronic structure of MXenes. Relevant techniques may include transient photoelectron spectroscopy, transient absorption spectroscopy, ultrafast emission measurements, ultrafast electron microscopy, and ultrafast cathodoluminescence.
Working closely with Argonne scientific staff and collaborators, the postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development and expansion of transient photoelectron spectroscopy and related ultrafast measurement capabilities. The position offers opportunities to develop novel instrumentation, pursue high-impact scientific questions, and work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary national laboratory environment.
