About Hextronics

Hex is building the infrastructure for on-demand aerial data. We design and manufacture drone-in-a-box systems that automate repetitive drone operations, taking humans out of the loop so the people who depend on aerial data can move faster. We're a small, agile team, we move fast, take on extreme ownership, and build products in months, not years.

The Role
Hex interns do real work. You’ll join one of our teams, contribute to a scoped project, and ship something the team actually uses. We’re hiring interns across engineering and operations and will match you to a team based on your background and interests:

- Engineering: Electronics (electrical and embedded/firmware), Hardware (mechanical design), Software
- Operations: Production, Flight Operations, Business Operations

What You’ll Do

- Own a defined project with a clear deliverable, with a mentor on your team
- Work hands-on with our drone and dock systems in the lab and in the field
- Take part in team standups, design reviews, and testing
- Present your work to the team at the end of the summer

Requirements

- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field
- Available full-time and on-site in Miami for 10 to 12 weeks, Summer 2027
- Hands-on project experience: a class project, club team, research, or something you built on your own
- Comfortable working with limited direction and asking for help when you’re stuck

Nice to Have

- Robotics, drone, aerospace, rocketry, or Formula SAE team experience
- Experience with CAD, Altium, C/C++, Python, or lab test equipment
- A prior internship or co-op

What We Offer

- Paid internship
- Real ownership on a small, technical team where your work ships and matters
- Mentorship from engineers and operators building hardware that runs in the field

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
