About this role

About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to work onsite in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, while collaborating closely with an engineering team based in Atlanta, Georgia. This role supports electronic products through design changes, validation, manufacturing, and production issue resolution. The engineer serves as a local technical connection among Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers, completing well-defined work independently, documenting results clearly, and asking questions or escalating uncertainty before it becomes a larger problem.

What You’ll Do

- Own bounded electrical engineering deliverables such as design changes, alternate component selection, validation activities, troubleshooting efforts, and supporting documentation.

- Support products through manufacturing and production, including onsite investigation of electrical, assembly, test, and quality issues.

- Create or update schematics, component selections, bills of material, engineering change orders, test records, and release documentation using established processes.

- Set up and run design verification, validation, troubleshooting, and reliability tests using appropriate laboratory equipment and approved methods.

- Analyze results, identify anomalies, document evidence and conclusions, and follow assigned technical issues through closure.

- Coordinate with the Atlanta engineering team through regular written and verbal updates, remote reviews, shared test evidence, and timely escalation of questions or risks.

- Partner locally with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to clarify technical requirements, support builds, and resolve routine production concerns.

- Work with local and regional suppliers to communicate technical requirements, review samples or corrective actions, and support component, process, or sourcing changes within assigned scope.

- Contribute technical input during design reviews, manufacturing-readiness reviews, supplier discussions, and requirements clarification.

- Apply established design, safety, quality, regulatory, and product-lifecycle practices; raise conflicting requirements or uncertainty early.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

- Three to five years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including independent completion of well-defined technical work.

- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and conversation.

- Hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and related debug tools.

- Experience executing electrical tests, troubleshooting hardware, documenting results, and supporting technical issue closure.

- Ability to work independently onsite while collaborating effectively with a remote engineering team.

- Willingness to ask timely questions, communicate uncertainty, and escalate technical or schedule risks before they affect the work.

- Working knowledge of schematic capture, bills of material, engineering change control, and controlled product documentation.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and remote collaboration tools.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting manufacturing, pilot builds, production troubleshooting, or quality investigations.

- Experience working directly with local or regional component, fabrication, or contract-manufacturing suppliers.

- Experience with OrCAD Capture, OrCAD PCB Editor, Allegro, Altium, or similar ECAD tools.

- Familiarity with digital and analog embedded hardware, wireless products, power circuitry, or high-speed interfaces.

- Ability to write or modify simple C, Python, or other test scripts used for engineering verification.

- Familiarity with design for manufacturability, assembly, and test, and with regulatory or certification testing such as FCC, PTCRB, UL, or comparable requirements.

Why Join Us

- Work directly with products, manufacturing processes, test equipment, and local suppliers.

- Build broad experience across product development, validation, operations support, quality, and supply chain.

- Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners in Mexico and the United States.

- Develop greater ownership of electrical designs, investigations, and manufacturing support within a growing engineering organization.

- Contribute to #CareForTomorrow by helping deliver reliable products, disciplined engineering evidence, and practical improvements that reduce waste and recurring issues.

What We’re Looking For

This role is suited for an engineer who:

- Completes defined engineering work independently and follows through on commitments.

- Is comfortable working as the local engineering contact while the manager and most engineering teammates are based in Atlanta.

- Asks questions early, shares incomplete or unexpected findings honestly, and seeks another perspective when a decision exceeds the assigned scope.

- Uses test evidence and structured troubleshooting to move issues toward closure.

- Builds constructive working relationships with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers across languages and locations.

- Maintains clear, traceable records so remote teammates can understand, review, and act on the work.
