About this role

Description

The Design Program Manager supports the delivery of EU Amazon Logistics (AMZL) design initiatives within Amazon's Global Building Design and Engineering (GBDE) team. The role coordinates cross-functional workstreams, contributes to building design standards for AMZL EU and sub-programs, and ensures programs are executed with precision and pace. Working within established frameworks, the role supports cross-regional initiatives to ensure EU standards are globally informed and transferable. The ideal candidate combines technical grounding in the built environment with strong program coordination skills, operates effectively in ambiguous environments, and brings cross-regional curiosity that enables benchmarking to raise the quality of EU standards.

Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to support the end-to-end delivery of EU AMZL design initiatives, ensuring programs are executed with precision and pace
- Contribute to the development and documentation of building design standards for EU AMZL and sub-programs, working within established frameworks
- Support cross-regional and cross-program initiatives to ensure EU design standards are globally informed and transferable across Amazon's logistics network
- Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, bringing structure and clarity to complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Qualify, track, and drive design change proposals through the standards governance process, aligning stakeholders and monitoring outcomes until changes are adopted
- Produce clear, data-driven documentation and communications in English, and present findings to senior stakeholders
- Conduct cross-regional benchmarking by leveraging curiosity about other markets and cultures to identify transferable design and cost efficiencies
- Travel across the EU up to 30% of the time to support program delivery, site reviews, and stakeholder engagement

A day in the life
Indicative - You start by reviewing active EU AMZL initiative status, identifying blockers and aligning priorities. You connect with engineering, construction, and operations partners across time zones to move proposals forward and keep delivery on track. Mid-morning, you review design change proposals or prepare documentation to drive stakeholder alignment. In the afternoon, you translate technical decisions into clear, structured standards outputs for EU teams to adopt. You close with a cross-regional check-in, drawing on benchmarking insights from other markets to sharpen EU program recommendations. No two days are identical, but every day moves something forward.
