Job Purpose

The Senior Manager, Global Supply Planning is responsible for the development, management, and continuous improvement of the global master supply plan for all EnerSys products. This position plays a critical leadership role in the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, ensuring demand, supply, inventory, and capacity plans are aligned with business objectives.
The role will actively review and analyze demand plans, working cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Demand Planning teams to validate assumptions and recommend adjustments based on current and anticipated market conditions, historical performance, additional sales and customer inputs, forecast accuracy, and seasonal trends.
The position is responsible for translating the resulting demand outlook into executable short-, mid-, and long-term supply plans while establishing appropriate stocking and inventory targets. The Senior Manager, Global Supply Planning will also lead the continued development, standardization, and improvement of the SIOP process, ensuring risks, opportunities, constraints, and key decisions are clearly identified and elevated to executive leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

⦁ Provide leadership for the global SIOP process, driving disciplined execution, cross-functional participation, standardization, process maturity, and continuous improvement across the organization.
⦁ Review and analyze demand plans and forecasts to assess reasonableness, identify gaps and opportunities, and recommend adjustments based on market conditions, historical performance, additional sales and customer inputs, forecast accuracy, business intelligence, and seasonal trends.
⦁ Partner with Sales, Commercial, Demand Planning, Finance, and business leadership to challenge assumptions and develop a credible, consensus-based demand outlook for use in supply and inventory planning.
⦁ Translate the demand plan into an integrated global master supply plan across short-, mid-, and long-term planning horizons.
⦁ Lead the development and continuous improvement of SIOP processes, tools, governance, metrics, and meeting cadence, driving greater consistency and decision quality across businesses and regions.
⦁ Drive implementation of process and metric standardization across global supply planning activities, working closely with master planners, production schedulers, operations teams, and regional supply chain leaders.
⦁ Establish and maintain inventory targets, stocking strategies, and service-level objectives aligned with demand requirements, business priorities, supply capabilities, and working-capital objectives.
⦁ Lead finished-goods inventory health reviews, identifying excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and at-risk inventory and driving cross-functional improvement actions.
⦁ Assess changes in demand and determine the resulting impacts on capacity, production, inventory, material requirements, sourcing, and customer service across both near- and long-term planning horizons.
⦁ Identify demand and supply imbalances, capacity constraints, inventory risks, and business opportunities, and facilitate the development of scenarios and mitigation plans.
⦁ Lead preparation for SIOP and Executive S&OP reviews, identifying the key business decisions, trade-offs, risks, opportunities, and escalations requiring leadership action.
⦁ Facilitate alignment between demand and supply organizations, ensuring unresolved gaps and constraints are surfaced with clearly defined alternatives and recommended actions.
⦁ Develop and monitor SIOP and planning performance metrics, including forecast performance, inventory health, service performance, supply adherence, and plan stability, and lead corrective actions where performance is below expectations.
⦁ Partner with business and functional leaders to improve planning discipline, accountability, data quality, and decision-making throughout the SIOP cycle.
⦁ Serve as a senior business leader in the selection, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of demand, supply, inventory, and SIOP planning tools and systems.
⦁ Drive continuous improvement in planning capabilities, including process simplification, automation, scenario planning, analytics, and deployment of global best practices.
⦁ Provide leadership, coaching, and functional guidance to supply planning teams and other planning stakeholders across the global organization.
⦁ Promote collaboration and accountability across regions, business units, and functions to improve overall planning effectiveness and business performance.
